Nominations Process

For all open positions, any eligible and active member may be nominated by a member faculty peer or may self-nominate. Nominations must include:

  1. the name of the office for which the member is running
  2. a candidate statement that will appear on the ballot (250 words max)
  3. an optional ‘headshot’ that will appear on the ballot (150 pixels max)
  4. if applicable, endorsements from 10 members (see more below)

Nominations need to be emailed to the UNAC Election Committee with the necessary documents prior to 5:00pm AKT on the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.

After nominations close, the UNAC Elections Committee will certify the candidates and prepare the ballot. Voting will open according to the timeline described in the by-laws. Members-in-good-standing (dues payers for 3+ months or within 30 days of hire) will receive the ballot in their @alaska.edu email account.
